The first thing you’re going to need to do is establish an account with the VA organization online. If you were active duty and you did an exit physical, which all vets do, you’re probably in the system already. Its just a matter of establishing the online account. The VA is going to require a 2 Form Factor login setup – I use a push notification to my phone. This is also were you are going to need a copy of your DD-214. The VA will want a copy of your DD214. This can be done either online or at a VA hospital Intake Office. Part of setting up the account with the VA will be linking a bank account to your online profile. I use a different bank for this. The small monthly deposit for a 10% rating finances all my internet hosting hobbies. This website is paid for by a VA disability rating. The VA website had different levels of user access. Looks like it all might just be one level now. I upgraded mine by including my Medical Insurance information – they don’t use it, it helps them do something administratively is what I was told.

On the VA website, clicking on the button "Create Account" will produce the following pop out.  Its your choice for the Login.  I use the ID.ME for the login as it links a push notification to my cellphone.
