One of the biggest misconceptions about the VA medicine is that the VA will only cover medicine that is related to service connected conditions. All the medicines I take are covered and my service connection is only 10% for tinnitus. With type II diabetes I get the injectable I need to maintain blood sugar levels through the VA pharmacy. The diabetes is in no way connected to anything I did in the service. But there it is. Getting the service connected attribute clears the path for many benefits: Eye exams and glasses, hearing tests and hearing aids.
